About Me

For several years one of my hobbies has been computing, this has tied nicely with my course and lead me to develop additional skills such as computer repair and the ability to create my own gaming and work machine to my own specifications. It also gave me the skills to troubleshoot and solve problems efficiently.

My work is also my passion and as mentioned I am a partner in a games design company that has so far been very successful and well managed. As you can see I dedicate my all, even to my hobbies and interests.

I also pride myself in my problem solving ability's my time in game development and publication has only improved this. When working with my brother we would hit snags and issues regularly, the majority of these problems required out of the box thinking. One example of this I enjoy is during the development of Medal Of Valor 5 Multiplayer (Later re released as Bunker Z).

When creating the multiplayer element we encountered lots of issues we had never seen before, one in particular was displaying a players connection strength or "ping". When trying to ping from one player to the other the ping was not reaching the other player, we soon realised this was an issue with Unitys server handling the request. My idea to resolve this issue was for each player to ping up the Unitys server and back down to themselves (this meaning Unitys server did not have to redirect the request), the latency measured in milliseconds from the host and the client where then added together on our end creating a total latency.

Posh Toffee Games

Posh Toffee Games was founded in 2015 by me and my brother Zack Scrimshaw. We have released many titles on mobile phone platforms, mainly the Google Play Store and Apple App Store, with over 6 million downloads.

My responsibilities involve publishing, co-management, marketing, game development, level design, developing for multiple platforms, play testing, user interface, GUI, concept art, 3D modelling and Sound assets. I have mainly worked in Unity 3D but also have experience with the Unreal engine and would have no qualms with using whatever tool best suits the task at hand.

As you can see, I develop video game titles of various styles and genre. My games also target different audiences and maturity levels, I am very versatile and am always looking to try new things.

Gamejam

I have attended the Global Game Jam 2014, and our team won the award for Game with Best Aesthetics. I was the lead concept artist, level designer and also assisted with asset creation. The game was created in 48 hours within the Unity engine.

I attended Global Game Jam 2016 and our team which I was the leader of won 2nd place out of 24 teams!

At Global Game Jam 2017 our team won first place for Echo The Bat, this title was later released on the Google Play Store, you can see more about Echo The Bat in the published games section.

Classic Cars - Specifically my 2CV

One of my hobbies has been fully restoring my Classic Citroen 2CV, I acquired my Citroen in 2018 (It had been in a barn for 7 years) and have been meticulously restoring it ever since. While restoring the car I have repaired and replaced many components as well as restoring the rusting body work and faded paint job. I now take the 2CV to classic car shows all over the country.

In the gallery below you will see these improvements ranging from 2018 to this day.

Cooking!

Cooking has always helped me unwind and I love trying and perfecting new things. Below are some images of some recent meals!
